the barstools aka the devil

So after 5 years of lots of love.....mainly from the boys.... our once beautiful barstools now look like this...i know i know so hot right.....
So after a lenghty discussion with my babe we...I mean I came to the conclusion that they needed a whole new look.  I found some fabric that I feel in love with because it gives our monochromatic house the pop of color that we are so desperately seeking....
From the front it doesn't look so bad....and not all the chairs are in total need of repair but if you are going to do one you must do them all....wow i never realized the journey that i was about to take...
Normally here i would show you how i take it apart and then put all back together but this project was mayhem..to say the least!!! So after tearing one stool down and then reconfiguring how I could put it back together but make them washable since 1. the fabric is way light...2. i have a 4 year old that is messier than a pig...3. if i was going to spend so much time doing this i wanted it done right...
wow let's just say it took about 1 month to complete yeah crazy right???? I totally know... but now i had to figure in velcro and button holes that so if and when i need to wash them they won't fray...Super fun right???? Oh brother it was crazy. The first chair took the most amount of time as it was my "dummy" and then others went a lot faster....not fast but faster.....

Here is a side by side compairison...lots different and yes i finally added the piece that broke off the front....some times it take a whole revamp to put such simple things back in place
Here is the finished product...I love how much it lightens the kitchen....this project was tough a lot tougher than i imagined it would be but a great challenge and now that it is FINALLY done i can say that I am finally enjoying them in their full glory....now just to keep my 4 year old off of them...teeheee
