Mr. Captain America

What do you do when you have the cutest 3 year old who is obsessed with Captain America??? You break down and make him whatever you can so you can fuel the fire!!!
So while shopping at Target the other day I came across this in the Dollar section and immediately knew what I could do with it!!!
So I took this rather amazing looking hat and made it even more amazing...
Next I cut out felt and sewed together a Captain America patch to sew onto his hat......

Here is how it turned out not perfection but hey it works wonders for a 3 year old!
Next up were the gloves...I forgot the before picture....but they were just a plain cute blue...now they are much cuter right????
Here is the set of hat and gloves and one exteremly pleased three year old who now thinks he is the COOLEST thing ever
Can you say I am sucker...here is his favorite Captain America shirt...oh what's a girl to do???

These are a few of my favorite things...

I love Christmas...it's seriously the BEST time of year...
I love to decorate the house to the brim....the boys have been begging to decorate so the day after Thanksgiving we pulled out the big guns...Ryker my 3 year old said, "Ok so the trees up...where are all the presents??? It's Christmas right?"   ha ha little did I know that  is why he is so excited...oh brother
I found these amazing three wisemen at DI for $6.00 fun right?
What's Christmas without a Nativity???

I love hanging ornaments from the windows

I went all crazy and decorated my bathroom
My handsome boys trees they get such a kick out of decorating them...I tell them they can decorate how they want and I won't touch it and they don't touch my tree...it works well for everyone  Xan's has Star Wars all over it
their dresser

This is Rykers can you tell there are trains everywhere
My tree I loved how it turned out this year...I added some picture frames and it really made all the difference..tutorial on that in a few days

The stockings I made last year or aka Santas shoes
These are a few of my favorite things....what are some of yours?

Did you have a great Thanksgiving???

Did you have a great Thanksgiving or what???? I know we sure did...the day was perfect. We had lots of family and good...amazing food...fun conversations...games to watch...memories to create and share....I couldn't imagine it any other way.
 do you recognize the napkins????
The kids corner...they have thanksgiving placemats they were able to color.....
 oh so full....
perfect way to end the day

easy peasy table runner

One of my very bestest friends was at the craft store and was talking with the lady at the cut counter when she told her of a great table runner.

So you take half of a yard
 and then a fourth
put together using the whole 44" of the length
 pin like so.....
sew together and pull through...it will look like a tube
then take and fold in half
 pin
 and sew across top
unfold and it will make a corner like so
ta da...I know you are loving the foot in the background right???? Is this easy peasy or what...so if you get this for your Christmas don't be surprised....what can I say????
Merry Christmas

Thanksgiving wreath

Better late than never right???? I made this wreath for November to hang on my door another project inspired by my waiting in the lines of JoAnn's.

revamping napkins

So this year I decided to pull out the thriftiness....I took my thanksgiving napkins and gave them a little bling..so to speak
I cut out an rooster shape using my Cricut that is as close to a turkey as I could get ....I used my vinyl so it would stick to the cloth.
then I used some gold paint I had and sponged it over my stencil.
 Like so
And this is how they turned out...super cute right???
Taking something old and giving it life again so fun
Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Banner

Can I just tell you how much I love and I mean love JoAnn's.  They have everything I need there plus more...while waiting in another long line to get the one very thing I need I end up walking around and of course finding more things to buy....bother....I think they devise their cutting counter in this way....while 2 get their fabric cut you have 10 waiting and then they end up walking around and buying more than anticipated....so this is how the story of the burlap banner begins...
While waiting and walking around because I have a cute three year old who can't stand hanging out in the line so while browsing the grand store we came across some burlap and thought why not...i've made several other bannners let's go for it!  I purchase 1/2 yard hoping for the best
First I cut a triangle and traced a letter using my stencils onto the paper to make sure they would fit before actually getting to work.
Then I layed out my stencils to spell Give Thanks

Then i cut all my triangles
I decided to mix it up a bit and use burlap and sparkly glitter.  I have heard Mandi over at Vintage Revivals talk of the amazingness of the Glitter Blast spray by Krylon so of course I had to get a can.  I taped my stencils over the burlap to hold in place.  Next I took them outside and sprayed them.
This is how it turned out...so love but couldn't see the letters that well
So I took my permanent marker and traced over all the letters.  Then I took a needle and ribbon and threaded the letters though.  Finally I hung it outside and here is how it looks
I love the way it turned out...the glitter sparkles in the sun and it reminds me to constantly give things that I am thankful for everytime I walk up to the door......don't mind the Halloween wreath in the background :)

Thanksgiving decor

So now here it is the Thanksgiving decor...same thing...I just really can't remember things so this is for next year
this year while on Pintrest I found this super cute amazing subway art that was for free...even better so I printed it and put it in a clearance frame I found at Hobby Lobby.....so in love with it
This is our thankful turkey....every day we put pieces of paper in that we are thankful for and on Thanksgiving day we pull out and read them all while having Thanksgiving dinner....it really sets the mood and helps us to have a whole entire month that we find things we are thankful for...the little man who is almost 4 just draws pictures.

my little man loves this scarecrow....he thinks he's so funny

yeah we are watching Thomas....life doesn't get much better than this does it?????
This year I found these amazing pinecones at Hobby Lobby and just had to have them....they were going be used for Christmas but I thought they were fitting for Thanksgiving too....you know me getting the most out of my money....haha
I also found these super cute phesants at Hobby Lobby....I tell you Thanksgiving decor that is cool is just so hard to find so of course I had to have these too...good thing they were on sale!!!!
I found two small wreaths at Tai Pan and took them apart and put into this super awesome cornacoupia...yeah i don't know how to spell but it's the thought that counts right????  Doesn't it just look so super cute on my new table runner?????  I love the classy feel it gives....

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all...thanks for looking
